'It's understood...' - Report shares if Everton takeover will now be completed by January

The Friedkin Group are hoping to have cleared regulatory hurdles ahead of completing their Everton takeover by December, according to iNews.

The online source reported [9 October] that Dan Friedkin wants to be in place to “hit the ground running” once the takeover is confirmed, with no issues emerging in the process so far.

Having already begun their search for new “big hitters” to join the team at Goodison Park, it is expected there will be room for investment during the January transfer window.

The report, written by Mark Douglas, added: “So far, it’s understood, the process is progressing as planned with no red flags raised.”

This will, of course, be hugely positive news to the fans who have been patiently waiting for Farhad Moshiri’s passing of the torch as Everton owner.

With a debt-free future, a number of potential new signings, moving to a new stadium and a more fan-friendly owner incoming, fans have every right to be excited by the takeover.

They have been through some very difficult times at Goodison Park in recent seasons, especially following the two separate points deductions last term, but that could be about to change.

Of course, there are still a few issues to solve as the takeover process trundles on, so the only thing Everton can do right now is perform on the pitch.

Everton play their home games at Goodison Park.

That was much easier said than done following the first few matches of the Premier League season, with Sean Dyche’s side unable to put three points on the board.

However, with five points from their last three games, beating Crystal Palace and drawing against Leicester City and Newcastle United, things look to be on the up for the Toffees.

In other Everton news, Craig Pawson has been called out as an “agenda” has been mooted against the Toffees.
