John Wenham was pleased to see Ange Postecoglou hand Lucá Williams-Barnett, Junai Byfield and Malachi Hardy a chance to train with the Tottenham first team.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes this demonstrates to the players that there is a clear pathway for them in North London.

Byfield also trained with Postecoglou’s side that day [via Lilywhite Rose], with the defender having previously been compared with Ledley King.
Meanwhile, Hardy trained with Spurs’ first team on Thursday 21 November [via Lilywhite Rose]
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has described the trio as some of Spurs’ most talented young players.
“It’s great that Postecoglou is giving these players a chance,” Wenham said.
“Especially for players so young, they would have had to have been pulled out of school to train with the first team. Overall just a really amazing opportunity for them, they’re three of our brightest prospects, always selected for England at their relative age groups.
“It is a great experience for them, and it demonstrates that there is a clear pathway at Tottenham to impress the manager and hopefully break into the first team one day.”
Ange Postecoglou hands youth trio first-team chance at Tottenham
It is clear to see just how talented Williams-Barnett, Byfield and Hardy all are.
Despite the trio still being schoolboy players, they have now already trained with Spurs’ first team, a decision which could prove to be a stroke of genius from Postecoglou.
There is no guarantee that Spurs will keep hold of these players in the long term, with young prospects often transferring between clubs. Therefore, by demonstrating to them now that there is a pathway in North London, the players are more likely to sign contracts when the time comes.
In other Tottenham news, the club are eyeing another Sunderland player as a Chris Rigg update is shared.
