Lilywhite Rose predicts Championship loan for Tottenham teen wowing this season

John Wenham has speculated that Tottenham youngster Josh Keeley could join a Championship club on loan next season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has hailed the goalkeeper, who is currently on loan at Leyton Orient, with the 21-year-old recently making history for the O’s in the FA Cup.

Keeley followed that history-making moment up with yet another unexpected moment in Leyton Orient’s 2-0 League One victory away at Wigan Athletic on Saturday [7 December].

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has described what he feels is the shot-stopper’s greatest attribute.

“I think Keeley will do a loan in the Championship next season, which would be the perfect move for the youngster,” Wenham said.

“If he were to do a full season there, he would come back to Tottenham at the age of 22 with plenty of senior experience under his belt. As a result, he would then be ready to challenge for a first-team place.

“Keeley’s biggest attribute is he can play football the way that modern goalkeepers play football. He is very good with the ball at his feet, and he seems to have really settled in at Leyton Orient.”

Fraser Forster is expected to leave Tottenham at the end of the season. Therefore, a spot could soon open up for the number two position.

However, Tottenham have been mooted to bring somebody in to fill that spot in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

As a result, Keeley might have to bide his time in North London. However, should he be patient and continue to impress, he could one day claim the number one spot for himself.

Therefore, it looks as though the future is bright in the goalkeeping department in North London, with another young player impressing in that position this season.
