Adrian Durham launches Ange rant after ‘Nonsense’ claim he made about Tottenham

Adrian Durham believes Ange Postecoglou’s claim that his job as Tottenham manager is harder than being the prime minister is “nonsense”.

The Australian has been under some severe scrutiny this season due to Spurs’ underperformance across all competitions thus far.

And, despite their recent 5-0 victory over Southampton in the Premier League, things were going rather badly for Tottenham as they went five games without a win.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (19 December, 07:29am), Durham went on something of a rant about the things Postecoglou has said about Spurs this season.

“If they go out tonight, he’s [Ange Postecoglou] got a massive, massive issue,” he said.

“He’s got to play his strongest side tonight, he’s got to win the game, this is a guy who is under pressure but he’s putting himself under pressure by saying his job is harder than the prime minister’s job which is nonsense.

“He’s started talking utter rubbish, what we know is that he’s now realising the Premier League is far more difficult than Scotland, Japan and Australia, he’s got to get used to that quick and stop moaning about it.”

As aforementioned, Tottenham’s fans are far from pleased with how their team have performed this season.

Tottenham are 10th in the Premier League and are set to face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Thursday evening, but things should be going much better for Spurs in the top flight.

If Postecoglou’s men are defeated by the Red Devils in the Carabao Cup then it’s hard to see how the Australian will be able to deliver on his second-season promise of silverware.

Of course, they have more than enough quality within their ranks to do so but with the defensive crisis they currently find themselves in, it feels like their tie against Ruben Amorim’s men on Thursday evening is a hard one to call.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the Australian but if they come away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as losers, it could be curtains for the former Celtic boss.
