'Magical', 'Beautiful' - Ally McCoist blown away by what Rangers ace did v FCSB

Ally McCoist was blown away by Vaclav Cerny’s assist for Tom Lawrence’s opening goal as Rangers beat FCSB 4-0 on Thursday (24 October).

The Welshman powered home just 10 minutes into the game, sending the fans into a frenzy after a struggling start, but all eyes were on the playmaker as the Gers took the lead at Ibrox.

Cerny collected the ball on the right flank before laying into the middle for Lawrence to unleash a strike, and while it was not the cleanest, it was enough to beat Stefan Tarnovanu.

Speaking live via TNT Sports [24 October, 8:10pm], McCoist said: “It’s a magical first touch from Cerny with his left foot. He creates a little bit of space and it’s a lovely ball out to the right-hand side too.

“He takes it superbly well. The ball comes into him, the touch is beautiful, and he cuts it back. It’s not the cleanest of strikes from Tom Lawrence but he deserves it.”

Vaclav Cerny wows in Rangers win v FCSB

Cerny has been a breath of fresh air since arriving from Wolfsburg on loan this summer, already becoming a fan favourite due to his honesty with the fans.

Philippe Clement also looks to be quite the fan of the Czechia international, starting him in six of the Gers’ eight Scottish Premiership outings so far, and that faith has certainly paid off.

With two goals and an assist against FCSB at Ibrox, the 27-year-old now has five goals and three assists in all competitions and is becoming more and more undroppable with each game.

Of course, he went through a difficult period, especially after a massive miss during the 4-1 defeat to Lyon, but the winger has come on leaps and bounds since that forgettable moment.

He took a lot of pelters when his form dropped, but now that he is back in form, the player is receiving the deserved plaudits for his performances.
