Marc Guehi sends message to ex-Chelsea teammate after source's reveal

Marc Guehi sent a message to former Chelsea star Conor Gallagher after the midfielder scored his first goal for new club Atletico Madrid.

Guehi, 24, had a breakout Euro 2024 and has since been linked with multiple Premier League clubs, with Newcastle having four bids for the defender rejected by Palace over the summer.

The centre-back has now been linked with a return to Chelsea, three years after making the £20million switch from his boyhood club.

Football Insider revealed (September 14) that Guehi could turn down the chance to re-join Chelsea, however, preferring a ‘more attractive’ move.

Gallagher, 24, and Guehi climbed the Chelsea youth ranks together before reuniting at Palace during the midfielder’s season on loan at the club in 2021-22.

Like Guehi, Gallagher was forced out of the West London club in their never-ending mission for ‘pure profit’, joining Atletico Madrid for £38million over the summer.

The central midfielder scored his first goal for the club in their 3-0 victory over Valencia on Sunday (September 15) and Guehi took to Instagram to congratulate his friend.

Guehi was named Palace captain at the start of the season, taking over from fan favourite Joel Ward, and has since played every minute for the club.

The South London club next face an unpredictable Man United side as they still seek their first Premier League win of the season.
