Newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are not keen on signing Rangers attacker Tom Lawrence, according to Stuart Wilson.

The East Anglian Daily Times journalist reported on 10 June that it’s another scenario when Ipswich’s name has been used to drive up interest in a player.

While the Premier League side are looking at reinforcements in the attacking department this summer, the 30-year-old Wales international is not on their radar.

Wilson wrote: “My understanding is this is another transfer report in which Ipswich’s name is being used to try and generate interest/further negotiations.”

Tom Lawrence has been underwhelming for Rangers in recent months

Lawrence’s performance at the club has been underwhelming so far, with only 40 appearances and a mere six goals in two seasons.

His injury-prone nature and inconsistent form have hindered his impact on the team.

With one year left on his contract, Lawrence needs to prove his worth to justify a new deal or attract interest from other clubs.

Philippe Clement is overseeing a squad overhaul and Lawrence’s age and declining playing impact make this a crucial season for him.

He needs to show that he can elevate his game, improve his goal-scoring record, and stay injury-free to be a valuable asset for the team.

If Lawrence fails to improve, he may find himself on the bench or even out of the club, as Gers look to build a stronger and more competitive squad for the future.
