Player entourage speaks out as sporting director reacts to Rangers bid today - report

Joan Jordan’s entourage has said that the midfielder would prefer to stay at Sevilla despite Rangers making their move, according to El Desmarque.

The news outlet reported via its website that despite Sevilla’s intention to offload Jordan, the Spaniard wants to stay and fight for his place.

Sporting director Victor Orta has not been convinced by any bids for Jordan yet, with Rangers making a loan offer on Saturday 13 July [Fabrizio Romano].

With a summer of change underway at Rangers, Philippe Clement has looked to add the experienced midfielder to his ranks.

The loan bid was rejected by the Spanish club as they have no intention of contributing to any of the midfielder’s wages, should he depart [Fabrizio Romano, 13 July].

Many additions have already been made to Clement’s side with the likes of Connor Barron and Hamza Igamane both arriving [Moroccan Grinta, 4 July].

A common theme among these additions, however, is that they seemingly lack experience and the Belgium manager is clearly planning for the future.

In fact, he said himself that experience was one of the key assets of his next transfer targets.

Although building for the future is obviously crucial for any club, when the likes of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram both exit in the same window, that experience is hard to replace.

The addition of Jordan would have made a lot of sense and although it looks unlikely right now, things can change very quickly in the transfer window.
