Positive talks ongoing as Everton negotiate fresh payment structure for new transfer - report

Everton are negotiating a fresh payment structure with Tottenham over the payment structure of Dele Alli, according to Nizaar Kinsella.

The Evening Standard journalist reported on 12 July that talks are positive and amicable between the two clubs.

Despite him currently being a free agent, the Toffees do not want to give up on the 37-cap England international.

Via Twitter, Kinsella wrote: “Everton are renegotiating with Tottenham over a revised payment structure to re-sign Dele. Talks are positive and amicable as the Toffees don’t want to give up on the 37-cap England international.”

There are significant risks associated with signing Alli and this is something that the Toffees have to keep in mind.

His fitness record is not the best, having been out of action for a considerable period.

This raises concerns about whether he will be able to return to his previous level of performance.

Additionally, Alli’s stint at Everton, when he had just joined from Spurs, was underwhelming, which further underscores the uncertainty surrounding his potential impact if he were to return.

The Merseyside club must carefully consider these factors and assess the potential risks against the possible benefits of retaining Alli.

Sean Dyche’s input will also surely hold a lot of weight and if he believes that Alli can fit into his system and be a key player for him, then by all means, the club must go ahead with it.
