For Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice the 2023/24 season will be one of progress but also missed opportunities.
Inspired by the addition of Rice to Mikel Arteta’s squad last summer, Arsenal came incredibly close to lifting the Premier League title – a feat that continues to elude the side.
Arsenal’s pursuit of the Champions League title ended much earlier at the quarter-final stage, a reminder that this squad is still relatively inexperienced.
Of course, Saka and Rice, along with Aaron Ramsdale, were also runners-up for England at the Euros, beaten in a similarly inevitable fashion by Spain to Manchester City’s dominance back home.
However, it’s certainly not all doom and gloom for the Arsenal stars mentioned at all, who will believe that they can win the silverware their football deserves next season.
That being said, after failing to win the Euros final, Saka has now taken to Instagram to share a message with his supporters.
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka says England are ‘on the right track’
Saka uploaded a photo demonstrating his disappointment when walking alongside the Euro 2024 trophy, which was only moments away from being passed to Spain.
And along with the photo, Saka wrote: “It’s hard to put into words how I’m feeling right now. But to all the fans, thank you for your incredible support throughout the tournament.
“You followed us across Germany and showed us love everywhere we went. We really appreciate you.
“There’s no better feeling than playing for our country at these tournaments and it’s even more special playing with a group like this.
“We all believe we’re on the right track and we’ll get there together. Thank you all again and see you soon.”

As you may expect, a player of Saka’s popularity for club and country received a ton of replies – some from his current and former Arsenal teammates.
Saka could be celebrated by new teammates next season
Recently Gary Neville was astonished at how popular Saka had become, someone who is universally liked.
And after posting his message to Instagram, both David Luiz and Rice were among those to share their love back to Saka.
Luiz wrote: “Proud of you” and Rice simply left a heart emoji for his club and country teammate.
Of course, in order to improve their prospects next season Arsenal will need to make significant additions to their squad.
And sources in Spain have now been sharing the latest on Arsenal’s pursuit of midfielder Mikel Merino.
