Rangers six-figure demand could ruin transfer talks for exit-linked player - report

Robby McCrorie’s £500,000 price tag set by Rangers could ruin transfer talks with Aberdeen over a move this summer, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on 14 June via their website that while the 26-year-old has been identified as a replacement for Kelle Roos and that negotiations are ongoing, that valuation may be too high.

It’s understood that McCrorie is open to leaving Ibrox this summer as he wants to enhance his chances of returning to the Scotland side. [Daily Record]

Rangers must not budge on Robby McCrorie’s transfer price tag

There are clubs in England willing to take a punt on the Gers keeper so if Aberdeen are unwilling to pay up, someone south of the border could use it as an opportunity to sign him. [Daily Record]

By holding firm, Gers will ensure they receive a fair price for the talented goalkeeper, allowing them to recoup costs and potentially reinvest in the squad.

This approach also sets a precedent, showing other clubs that they value their players and won’t be pressured into selling below their valuation.

Additionally, McCrorie’s desire to enhance his international chances by playing regularly could motivate him to perform at his best, benefiting Gers if he stays.

Maintaining a high valuation helps to maintain squad depth, providing healthy competition for the starting position and cover in case of injuries.

Jack Butland, Rangers
Jack Butland has been a revelation for Rangers since arriving at Ibrox

It remains to be seen where he ends up this summer because he does not seem like someone who’ll settle for second choice.

In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement will now tell a first-team player to clear out his locker at Ibrox as a development has emerged from Glasgow.
