Report: Everton have reached late-night agreement over 'outstanding' player likened to Bruno Fernandes

Everton have been fairly busy in the transfer market over the past few weeks, making two signings to date.

The Toffees have strengthened their ranks in midfield and attack, bringing in Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille.

Everton have also moved a number of players on, selling Ben Godfrey and Lewis Dobbin, and letting three others leave on free transfers.

However, a transfer update has now emerged, and it looks as though the Blues are closing in on another incoming.

Everton reach agreement with Napoli over Jesper Lindstrom

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton have now reached an agreement with Napoli over a move for Jesper Lindstrom.

The Toffees would be signing the Denmark international on a loan deal with an option to buy, added the report.

Everton’s job is to now reach agreement with Lindstrom over personal terms.

Sky Sport Italia have also corroborated Di Marzio’s update with a post shared via their X account.

Prior reports have claimed that Everton were negotiating an option to make the deal permanent next summer for €25million (£21million).

What can Everton expect from Lindstrom?

Everton could soon be set to sign a versatile talent who can play in attacking midfield and on the wings.

Lindstrom is currently playing for Serie A side Napoli, and also represents Denmark internationally, with 16 caps under his belt.

The 24-year-old got his big break in 2021 when he joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Brondby, subsequently moving to Napoli two years later.

Although things haven’t worked out for Lindstrom at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, a fresh start could now be on the cards for Lindstrom.

Should Sean Dyche get the best out of him, he can return to the levels he reached at Frankfurt, with 28 goal contributions from 80 outings.

Lindstrom has described his game as follows, as per the Bundesliga website: “In general I like to play up front but can also play on the wings.

“I’ve got a strong shot on me from distance and I like to link up play in the penalty area.”

Former Frankfurt colleague Kevin Trapp said of Lindstrom: “He’s an outstanding footballer and has very good technique.”

And Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout compared Lindstrom to Manchester United and Portugal star Bruno Fernandes back in 2021.
