Liverpool have agreed terms to sign Federico Chiesa and the Italian’s move to Merseyside has paved the way for another deal.
The Reds endured a terribly slow start to the window but it is about to burst into life as Arne Slot secures his second signing of the summer.
Liverpool are set to sign Federico Chiesa after agreeing terms with Juventus for the 26-year-old winger.
The Italy international is on his way to Merseyside today. Liverpool are set to pay £10m for Chiesa, who had one year remaining on his deal in Turin.
Federico Chiesa will become the second signing of the summer for Liverpool after they completed a £30m deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Chiesa’s arrival at Anfield is set to have major repercussions for arch-rivals Manchester United.
Juventus step up Jadon Sancho talks
Juventus were willing to let Chiesa leave with the winger falling out of Thiago Motta’s first-team plans.
The Serie A giants have shown an interest in Jadon Sancho, and with Chiesa off their books, they have now stepped up talks.
According to iNews, Juventus are now “very confident” that they will sign Sancho as a quick replacement for Chiesa.
United prefer a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy, but if a fee can be arranged and a large portion of Sancho’s substantial wages is covered by Juve, then they will entertain the idea of a straight loan with an option to buy.
United value Sancho at £40million if Juventus wanted a permanent deal for the 24-year-old winger.
Liverpool have just given Man United a helping hand
United have been struggling to offload Sancho after his return to the club this summer.

Chelsea have shown interest in a deal, but are eager to include him in a swap deal for either Ben Chilwell or Raheem Sterling.
But Liverpool’s deal for Chiesa has now freed up Juventus to pursue a deal for Sancho – much to the delight of their biggest rivals.
