'Sensational' - Michael Stewart wowed by what he saw in Rangers v Celtic

Michael Stewart was wowed by the Rangers v Celtic Scottish League Cup final clash on Sunday at Hampden Park.

The game after regulation time was 3-3 with Gers coming from behind on two occasions to send the game to extra time.

Philippe Clement’s side opened the scoring and even led at half-time, but needed a late equaliser from Danilo to send the match into an extra 30 minutes and penalties which Celtic eventually won 5-4.

Speaking on Premier Sports on 15 December, Stewart said at 5:34pm: “Sensational. Credit to Celtic, they came back into the game. There were a lot of questions posed to them. I don’t think they started the second half. Likewise, credit to Rangers as well.”

Rangers had a few chances to seal the win in the first 90 minutes

The final undoubtedly was a thrilling spectacle, embodying the essence of an end-to-end game that kept neutrals on the edge of their seats.

It swung back and forth with Gers taking an early lead and even going into halftime ahead.

However, Celtic fought back, but Clement’s side were incredible, showcasing resilience by equalising not once but twice.

The game’s intensity was palpable with them needing a last-gasp goal to force extra time after the score was level at 3-3.

This match undoubtedly was a rollercoaster for fans, with each team having moments where they could have sealed the victory within the standard 90 minutes.

It can be argued that Gers had plenty of chances in the first 90 minutes to win it and on another day, they could’ve wrapped it up.
