Sky Sports journo predicts £10m+ fee for 'effective' Tottenham star amid Fabrizio Romano update

Dan Bardell can’t see Tottenham getting more than £15million for Giovani Lo Celso as a Deadline Day move to Real Betis nears.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 30 August that the La Liga side are working on a deal to sign the Argentina international.

Los Verdiblancos are waiting on the green light from Spurs but have limited time remaining until the deadline at 11:00pm on Friday (30 August).

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist believes the midfielder is a positive addition to Ange Postecoglou’s side but if sold wouldn’t bring in a high fee.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Bardell said: “Lo Celso actually did well last year, there was a spell when he came into the team for Maddison and he was really effective.

“The problem is that outside of the Premier League, not many teams have much to spend so Tottenham aren’t going to extract a big fee.

“If he is going permanently I’d expect them to get between £10m-15m which I would say is a bargain.“

Spurs have conducted limited business over the summer but have been effective and improved their squad where needed.

With that being said, it doesn’t appear that there is much need to let many stars go, especially ones who could have a first-team impact throughout the season.

The Argentine has performed well in spells in North London while showing his qualities in spells with Villarreal.

With James Maddison hitting a rough patch in the second half of last season, keeping hold of the Betis-bound man may have been a positive move.

Doesn’t appear that Postecoglou is thinking that was and now his exit feels likely.
