Two backroom arrivals on cards at Rangers as board sources reveal stance on Clement - report

Rangers could hire a sporting director as well as a Head of Academy apart from bringing in a new CEO, according to Chris Jack.

The Rangers Review journalist reported on 19 September that boardroom sources have reaffirmed the belief in Philippe Clement despite losses against Dynamo Kyiv and Celtic.

The club are keen to avoid the rinse-and-repeat nature of the past few seasons as they look to make backroom additions.

Gers know that chopping and changing managers constantly and bringing in five to seven players every summer is not the long-term answer.

There’s got to be a fixed plan and someone who fits into that plan perfectly who can then execute operations to ensure everything flows smoothly behind the scenes.

Sacking Clement for the next few months makes zero sense as he’s been left out to dry by the hierarchy at Ibrox.

A sporting director and Head of Academy are two important roles that need to be filled as well as they can safeguard not just the present but also the future of the club.

It makes no sense to build a team for now that can perhaps challenge for the title for one season but then spend the next five seasons trying to build a completely new team.

Sane heads behind the scenes need to be making these big decisions and given how things have panned out in recent seasons, this just does not seem to be the case.
