Ange Postecoglou must ensure he keeps an eye on Tottenham youngsters Luca Williams-Barnett and Ellis Lehane.

There are a host of talented young players currently playing their football with Spurs in North London.

The likes of Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear and Jamie Donley have already burst onto the scene and all recently made an impact during Spurs’ pre-season tour.

And it appears as though Postecoglou already has some brand-new wonderkids to keep an eye on at Hotspur Way.

With several of last year’s academy talents pushing for first-team minutes this season, that opens the door for some of Spurs’ younger players to take their places within the youth set-up.

And it seems as if Williams-Barnett and Lehane are wasting little time doing exactly that.

Ange Postecoglou to keep an eye on Luca Williams-Barnett and Ellis Lehane at Tottenham?

Spurs’ Under-18s got their 2024/25 campaign kicked off with a dramatic 6-4 victory over Crystal Palace’s Under-18s at Hotspur Way on Saturday (17 August).

It was 2-2 at half-time, with Tottenham’s goals coming courtesy of Herbie James and an own goal from the visitors.

And Williams-Barnett and Lehane ensured the hosts would leave with all three points, with both players scoring a brace apiece during the second half.

Lehane was denied a hattrick in stoppage time after Palace shot-stopper Marcus Hill kept the striker’s effort out with an outstretched leg.

Both forwards are still just 16 years old and have limited experience at Under-18 level, having made some appearances for Stuart Lewis’ side toward the end of last season.

However, with plenty of movement likely within the academy over the coming months, there is a good chance that Williams-Barnett and Lehane will both become regular fixtures of Spurs’ Under-18s.

And that will offer the youngsters an excellent opportunity to continue making an impression on Postecoglou.

While they are both still incredibly young, Moore isn’t much older, and the duo will no doubt be keen to use his rise as a blueprint for their own success at the club.

In other Tottenham news, the club have been urged to seal a brand-new signing before the transfer deadline after recent developments.
