Billy Dodds has revealed that Rangers fans reacted with “venom” to the players and Philippe Clement after the defeat against Aberdeen.
The Gers have now fallen nine points behind the Dons and Celtic in the Scottish Premiership after losing 2-1 on Wednesday 30 October.
Supporters are far from impressed with Clement and his side which was summed up by their post-match reaction from the stands at Pittodrie.
Speaking live on BBC Scotland (30 October, 10:07pm), Dodds shared: “We saw the reaction from the Rangers supporters when the team went over to the South Stand to applaud them for the support they had given.
“We were the other side of the stadium but we could see the venom that was coming at them. Philippe Clement is under serious duress right now.”
Rangers fans react angrily after Aberdeen defeat
It is Halloween and it is certainly a scary time for the Gers supporters and Clement after suffering a disappointing defeat against Jimmy Thelin’s side.
Fans were left fuming by their side given the poor performance they showed in such a massive game for the club in their mission to catch up with their Old Firm rivals.
Other than a brief spell in the second half, where Nedim Bajrami grabbed an equaliser, there was very little positivity to speak of.
There is no doubt that the Dons deserved the win even if Jack Butland saved a first-half penalty from Jamie McGrath.
As a result, Clement’s future is certainly hanging in the balance although he may benefit from the uncertainty in the Ibrox hierarchy at the moment.
There is a toxic atmosphere developing around the Light Blues and if results and performances don’t turn around, it could be time up for the Belgian.
