'Concrete talks': £15m Bundesliga winner could be next for West Ham after Wan-Bissaka and Todibo - journalist

West Ham are getting rather busy in the transfer market but it doesn’t look like things are slowing down any time soon either.

The Hammers are close to signing Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, while Jean-Clair Todibo is also expected to be announced shortly.

New manager Julen Lopetegui is very much going about rebuilding his defence, with Max Kilman also having arrived.

However, further forward, West Ham are still looking for more additions to go with Crysencio Summerville.

And according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, the Hammers could now have a free run at Bayer Leverkusen star, Adam Hlozek.

Adam Hlozek expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen after being linked to West Ham

As we know, West Ham have been linked with a move for Hlozek as recently as June.

Since then, though, nothing has progressed and the Hammers have focussed on signing other players.

However, now, it looks like a move for Hlozek could be back on, with Florian Plettenberg confirming the player is likely to leave and there are ‘concrete talks’ with English clubs.

Hlozek signing very much a risky one for West Ham

West Ham have felt the need to sign a striker all summer but after capturing Niclas Fullkrug, it does beg the question of if someone like Hlozek is needed.

Yes, there is no specific mention of the Hammers from Plettenberg here but given their interest and the fact he’s now in talks with English sides, you’d assume West Ham are in the mix.

However, while he’s still just 22, Hlozek has hardly set the world alight in terms of goals over in Germany.

He managed just the seven goals last season in a Bayer Leverkusen side that dominated all season and scored plenty as a team.

At £15m, he might be a player the Hammers and others feel can develop. But for the here and now, there are big question marks.
