Gabby Agbonlahor believes Everton will manage to retain their Premier League status this season.

The Toffees have had a miserable start to their 2024/25 season and find themselves nineteenth with just one point after the 1-1 draw at Leicester last time out.

Sean Dyche’s future is already in the air, with the club ready to make a decision before the next international break on October 10 [HITC].

Speaking live on talkSPORT (23 September, 8:26am) Agbonlahor shared his thoughts on Everton’s Premier League future with a succinct statement.

“I think they will have enough,” he said.

Everton have a decision to make about Sean Dyche

Despite having a fairly strong summer transfer window, Dyche has come under a lot of fire recently with David Moyes being one of the top contenders to re-take the hotseat [HITC, 21 September].

Some new arrivals such as Iliman Ndiaye have been stellar additions to the ranks and although the Senegal international has managed to improve the team, he can’t carry the club on his back alone.

To make matters worse, the fact that their potential takeover hasn’t yet happened despite John Textor fast-tracking the sale of his Crystal Palace shares is yet another thing for fans and players to worry about [Daily Mail, 19 September].

While things seem to be moving in the right direction, the fact that the club have been burned so many times before in terms of this takeover makes it only right for fans to have reservations about the deal until it’s been 100 per cent confirmed.

Dyche’s contract runs out at the end of the season and at the moment, it doesn’t look likely that he’ll have his stay extended, even if Everton survive.

Indeed, there’s plenty of time for things to change but something needs to happen soon otherwise Dyche could pay for his team’s poor form with his job.

In other Everton news, the Toffees may have already found the perfect Sean Dyche replacement.
