King moots 'Considerable' payoff for Tottenham flop in ‘Unusual’ Daniel Levy move

Bryan King believes Tottenham will be forced to agree a “considerable” payoff fee with Tangy Ndombele.

The ex-Spurs scout is surprised that this deal was allowed to happen on Daniel Levy’s watch.

It comes after a report in Football London (9 June) shared that Spurs are in talks with Ndombele to terminate the final year of his deal.

But King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims this won’t be cheap.

“This is another example of poor recruitment,” King said.

“They spent that kind of money on a player that has never been involved. He is not the type of player Ange Postecoglou will want around.

“There is only one way to get rid of him now, and he will sit tight until there is an agreement over how much he is going to get paid.

“I would imagine it will be a considerable amount of money.

“If you put that together with the amount of money spent on him, it is a lot of wasted cash.

“That is very unusual for Levy.”

Tanguy Ndombele to walk away from Tottenham for free

When everything is taken into account, this has a case for being the worst transfer in Premier League history.

With wages and the transfer fee combined, Spurs have invested around about £100million into Ndombele.

For that fee, they have received 91 appearances over five years, 10 goals and nine assists.

And with the player now set to be paid off just so that the club can get rid of him, it is difficult to remember a less successful signing.
