Arsenal fans have taken to social media to praise defender Riccardo Calafiori after their 3-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday (November 23).
The 22-year-old has been out of action after picking up a knee injury in Arsenal’s 1-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk earlier in the season.
Since joining from Bologna in the summer, the Italian has already missed nine games for club and country as Mikel Arteta’s side contend with multiple injury issues.
He made his return at the Emirates on Saturday, however, starting at left-backs as Arsenal won to keep within touching distance of the top three.
The Italy international ended the game having won 100 per cent of his tackles, 100 per cent of his ground duels, and made two recoveries before being brought off in the 67th minute.
‘Starboy’ Bukayo Saka bagged the opening goal after just 15 minutes before Thomas Partey got their second shortly after the break.
Substitute Ethan Nwaneri got their third to secure a valuable three points and keep Arsenal within touching distance of the top three.
Arsenal fans delighted to see Riccardo Calafiori back in action
Capable of playing as a centre-back, left-back, and even a winger, a fit and firing Calafiori would be a huge asset for Arteta.
Happy to see the Italian return, Arsenal fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to laud him for his performance against Forest.
