Dominic Calvert-Lewin could leave Everton in January after links to German striker Tim Kleindienst emerged.
A report from German outlet BILD [27 December] named the Blues as contenders for the Borussia Monchengladbach ace’s signature.
The former Heidenheim man has scored nine goals and notched four assists in 15 Bundesliga matches so far this season.
His potential arrival on Merseyside could spell the end for the former Sheffield United star who is out of contract in the summer.
Everton could move on from Calvert-Lewin
So far, the Merseyside club and the 27-year-old have failed to agree to a new deal and the Blues could cash in on the forward in January.
The 11-cap England international is in a poor run of form having scored just two goals in 17 league matches so far this campaign.
The Blues risk losing their frontman for nothing as he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with European clubs from 1 January.
The Toffees may decide to sell him to an English rival to try and get some kind of fee but that is unlikely given that his services will be available for free in the summer.
It seems increasingly likely that Calvert-Lewin will not be a part of the new era under the Friedkin Group for much longer.
Unless a new deal can be agreed, he will not lead the line when the Blues make their move to the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
In other Everton news, TFG may be able to offer Jarrad Branthwaite a ‘mammoth’ contract extension after a new development emerged.
